Mr. Harmon

Mr. Harmon is a legendary science teacher and the Kilroy Chairholder in Natural Science and Environmental Studies at University School. He was appointed in 1970, coinciding with the opening of the Hunting Valley campus, and has dedicated over 50 years to outdoor education at the school. Mr. Harmon is known for establishing the maple sugaring and trout hatchery programs, and for leading students in crafting birchbark canoes using traditional methods. In 2002, he was recognized with the Elizabeth Abernathy Hull Award for his contributions as an early environmental educator.
